Portugal introduced a medical aid fund, that's the main source of its public health system. The most important aim of the health declaration is to ensure that all have access to adequate healthcare without discrimination as a result of economic backgrounds or alternative socioeconomic statuses. Unlike in many European Union countries, the health declarations don't define any pre-determined pair of standards, as each case is assessed on its own merits.
